Greetings from floor 6!

Steffan has moved to a larger, quieter room to try to help him get more sleep. We no longer have a full brutalist, industrial chic view - but we like this new one better. There’s a big ledge in the room where were told we can bring plants in. Thinking Steffan will love seeing some of his favorite house plants in the room.

The last post mentioned he might be at the rehab facility by now, but we’ve hit another little bump. They are having difficulties balancing the shunt setting and the cerebrospinal fluid in his head. They think the atmospheric pressure on the area without the bone flap is playing a role so they’ve moved up the surgery to replace the bone flap. It’s now scheduled for a week from this Tuesday. This probably means he won’t go to the rehab facility just yet - so that they don’t need to transport him back and forth. And there’s a two week recovery after the surgery where he’ll need to stay in the hospital. The good news is this surgery was inevitable so not necessarily a bad thing to get it out of the way earlier. Just means we need to get comfie on floor 6 and hunker down for a few more weeks.

If you ever felt like sending cards, his new room is a lot bigger so more wall space is available. It's first come first served! And now that we'll be there for a little longer, we'd love to fill it up.

Special shout out to Nick Spahr and his amazing rendition of Huckleberry that just got added to the wall.  LOVE.
