Steffan is continuing to improve every day.  He’s now allowed to eat macerated foods — so that’s been the latest good news.

However he’s been nauseous lately bc he’s contracted C Diff - yet another hospital-rampant infection - so he hasn’t been eating much.  He just started a course of antibiotics so he’ll start feeling better soon, but while he’s got it all visitors have to wear full gowns and gloves while in his room.  And if you need to use the loo or go into the hallway, you are supposed to de-gown/glove, throw them away, and get fresh ones when you enter room again.  The bacteria can live on clothes and bags too - so not recommended to bring anything into the room other than yourself.  If you are around children, old folks or immuno-compromised people - it’s not recommended you visit during this time. It’s a super bug and extremely contagious.

New estimation is that he’ll be in this facility in Marin for another 2 weeks until he’s ready for the intense acute rehab at St Mary’s.

Meanwhile we hope to get him feeling better and teach ourselves how to macerate cheeseburgers and ramen.
